God of War is a third-person hack and slash action-adventure video game developed by Santa Monica Studio. It was published by Sony Computer Entertainment. First released on March 22, 2005, for the PlayStation 2 console. Since the first installment God of War has been evolved so much. There are lots of Weapons in the God of Series. Here is the list of some most popular and powerful weapons in God of War which are fun to play with. 

 

Blades Of Chaos :

The Blades of Chaos were forged by the original God of War, Ares. The Blades of Chaos are a pair of chained blades that were introduced in first God of War released on 2005. The Blades of Chaos were the most popular and most used pair of blades in the series. The Blades of Chaos would ignite with every attack. They can be used to attack long distanced enemies.Kratos unknowingly used them to kill his own wife and daughter. The Blades of Chaos were used in God of War (2005) , God of War: Chains of Olympus , God of War: Ascension & God of War (2018).

 

The Leviathan Axe :

 

 

The Leviathan Axe was forged by the Huldra Brothers, Sindri and Brok. The Axe has runes in the blade that grants it different powers like the use of ice and the ability to recall the weapon from any distance. The Laviathan Axe was introduced in God of War (2018) and it is the primary weapon of Kratos. The Leviathan Axe is two-handed war axe which also can be used for a throwing attack.

 

Barbarian Hammer :

The Barbarian Hammer was a slow but powerful close melee weapon. It was obtained after defeating the Barbarian King, Alrik. The Barbarian Hammer is a giant, spiked weapon which can be used to knock over a group of enemies with one blow. The Barbarian Hammer had the ability to summon Cursed Souls from the Underworld. Kratos used the Barbarian Hammer in God of War 2.


Nemean Cestus :

 

 The Nemean Cestus was a weapon seen in God of War III. The Nemean Cestus was a pair of large metal gauntlets, each forged that resembled a snarling lion's head, that greatly increased the strength of its wielder. The Hercules was the original owner of the Nemean Cestus. Kratos forcefully took the Nemean Cestus from his half-brother Hercules. Then Kratos used Nemean Cestus to kill Hercules. Each gauntlet of the Nemean Cestus was made of three separate parts: The lion's head, the first ring of spikes, and the second ring of spikes which was attached to a tube where Kratos fitted his arms.

 

Blade of Olympus :

 

 The Blade of Olympus was a powerful weapon. It was a large golden and white metal sword with bluish hues of energy that brimmed through and around it. It was seen in God of War: Ghost of Sparta, God of War II and God of War III. The Blade of Olympus was created by Zeus. Zeus forged it from the Heavens and the Earth during the end of the Great War. Zeus used it to banish the Titans to Tartarus and ended the brutal war once and for all. The weapon was first used in Rhodes, when Zeus sent it down for Kratos to help him destroy the Colossus of Rhodes.

 

Claws of Hades :

 

Claws of  Hades were depicted as a set of spiked chains with two hooks at the end of each that glowed pale purple. These cruel hooks grant you power over souls. The Claws of Hades were chained weapons formerly utilized by the God of the Underworld, Hades. They were later procured by Kratos after Hades' death.Those chains were extremely lethal weapons as they allowed the owner to attack at short and long distances. The Claws allowed Kratos to summon the souls of the Undead.


Spear of Destiny :

 

 

The Spear of Destiny was a weapon that was acquired by Kratos in God of War II. Kratos took it from Dark Rider after killing him. The spear was a magical weapon with Purple crystals that were infused in its ends, which could be used to pierce enemies and even created more explosive crystals. The Spear also had the ability to extend and retract itself for greater range attacks. 

The Gauntlet of Zeus :


The Gauntlet of Zeus was a gigantic gauntlet that was forged by Hephaestus. It was used by Zeus to defeate mighty Titans. Kratos found and obtained the gauntlet in the Temple of Zeus. The gauntlet was a weapon of the Gods that could deliver devastating blows to opponents, shatter solid stone and iron (when possible, the materials glowed blue, like the gauntlet itself with every attack), and was deadly even to Immortals.
